FAITHFUL WISDOM DEVOTIONAL
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
Gratitude is easy when life is going well.
It becomes much harder when the week feels heavy, plans fall apart, prayers seem unanswered, or you are carrying more than you expected.
But Scripture does not tell us to give thanks only when everything feels good.
It says, “In every thing give thanks.”
That does not mean we have to be thankful for pain, disappointment, or hardship itself. It means we can still find reasons to thank God while walking through difficult seasons.
Sometimes gratitude sounds like:
Thank You, Lord, for giving me strength today.
Thank You for the people who still love me.
Thank You for providing what I needed.
Thank You for staying with me even when I feel overwhelmed.
Gratitude changes where we place our attention.
Instead of allowing the difficulty to become the only thing we see, gratitude reminds us that God is still present, still faithful, and still worthy of praise.
A hard week does not erase God’s goodness.
You may not have everything you prayed for yet, but there is still something to thank Him for today.
God Has a Plan for You
Take a Moment to Reflect
Are you struggling to understand where your life is going?
Is there a closed door or disappointment you are still questioning?
Where do you need to trust God more with your future?
What step of obedience can you take today without knowing the entire plan?
Prayer
Father, thank You for seeing what I cannot see. Help me trust Your direction even when I do not understand the path ahead. Give me peace when plans change and faith when doors close. Guide my steps, prepare me for what You have ahead, and help me remain obedient while I wait for Your direction.
In Jesus' name, amen.
