In this verse, Jesus instructs His listeners to judge with righteousness rather than by outward appearances. This was spoken in response to those who were criticizing Him for healing on the Sabbath, revealing their hypocrisy in applying the law.
Superficial judgments often lead to misunderstanding and injustice. Righteous judgment requires discernment based on truth, wisdom, and alignment with God’s will rather than personal bias or external factors. This aligns with 1 Samuel 16:7, where God tells Samuel that He looks at the heart rather than outward appearance.
