John 1:5

"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

BIBLE VERSE

John 1:5 (KJV):
"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

This verse speaks of Jesus as the light of the world, shining into the darkness of sin and spiritual blindness. The light represents truth, holiness, and life found in Christ, while darkness symbolizes the fallen world, evil, and ignorance of God. Though the light shines powerfully, the darkness "comprehended it not", meaning that the world either did not understand, accept, or overcome it.

This verse reflects the ongoing conflict between good and evil, but also the victory of Christ, as darkness can never extinguish His light. It calls believers to walk in His light, sharing His truth in a world that often rejects it.
